: Don't know about David, but I read all the MacAvoy I can lay my hands on. Particularly nice are the _Tea With The Black Dragon_ and _Twisting the Rope_. Kept hoping she'd write a third, but don't believe it's happened.
: Also the _Damiano_ series. Liked those better than the Lens of the World, but all fine reads. Less successful was the _Third Eagle_.
: I see there's something on ABE called _The Gray Horse_. Don't know anything about it. I'd buy it if I could find it. Also the _Book of Kells_ which I've read, but don't recall esp.
: Likewise find my mild defense of Shea below. I read all 5 of his books last summer and was only mildly displeased with the HP Lovecraft homage, _The Color Out of Time_. OK reading, but horror not fantasy nor sf.
What is the fifth Shea title? Never read Quest for Simbilis. When did he write it? Hmmm... maybe that's why so many complaints re his copying Vance's style. It's all in the context I suppose. I started reading Vance and Shea about the same time and never knew about the Dying Earth relationship so I never perceived a connection between the two authors. Nifft and Nopalgarth - if anyone can present a connection between these two books I'd be interested to hear it. (Where IS my copy of Nopalgarth - I search and search but never find it. Still I am only counting four titles in your post below. If there's another I would like to know.
Currently searching for the Damiano series. Tea with Black Dragon was quite good. But wasn't as pleased with Twisting the Rope. Maybe it helps to be Irish? Allright, as long as we are straying off the path here, how about Jane Gaskell?
BTW what does ABE stand for?
