: : Hi,
: : Does anyone know of other writers like Jack? You know, like style and color in the stories? I've tried reading many others, but find myself less satisfied. I usually resort to re-reading.
: : Thanks!

: Besides Vance I really enjoy reading Robert Heinlein and Larry Niven. Try 'Glory road' or 'Orphans of the sky' by Heinlein or 'Inferno' or 'The integral trees' by Niven. All four books are great and I have often re-read them.
: But the plots contain some things also found in Vance's work: the young man searching for his place in the world, sometimes looking for revenge.
: Anybody agrees/disagrees ?

If I didn't know better I'd suspect this was a troll.
Though I was weaned on Heinlein and enjoyed these two Niven novels. Neither author strikes me as having anything in common with Vance in regards to style. If I recall correctly, the Heinlein books were both juveniles (meaning target audience).
Perhaps some specific examples would clarify your point but I just don't see that either author writes with anything close to Vance's eloquence or moral ambiguity.
