Hi all,
I am trying to learn everything I can about Jack Vance, and I have learned loads from the postings I have read the last few weeks, thanks very much (sorry to be self-indulgent).
This furore has raised an interesting question. Some of you are not interested in Vance's philosophy, and there is no reason you should be. But to me it is an essential part of understanding the worldview behind the novels. In my opinion Vance does not easily fit into any political category (but that does not imply he is apolitical), the only definate definition I have of his philosophy is humanist, and he would probably scorn that or any other label.
Of course what this is leading to is my desire to continue the discussion of Vance's philosophical and scientific outlook. (If everyone ignores me I will go away anyway). Please let me know what you think.
