It would be tough to pick the actors, but I've always thought 'Blue World' would be a perfect candidate for for success at the box office. It's got everything--action, adventure, skullduggery, a great villian, gore and gruesome events, a large-scale monster, even a plot with a far-fetched, ingenious solution. With a reasonable FX budget, sensible direction and editting, it couldn't miss. Or the Cugel adventures? A gold mine for the clever producer.
On the other hand most 'SF' movies are so embarrassing or poorly done that they dissuade people who haven't tried it from reading the stuff. Maybe Vance would inspire greater things.
