: Can anyone tell me if laughing magician has actually been published yet? I have this book on order from Andromeda Bookshop here in the UK for some time, and the Underwood site shows this book as being published May 97.
Snap. I've had this order with Rog for about a year now. The Underwood site is incorrect. The latest publication date is April/May 98 as I understand it.
: I'd also be interested to here from anyone in the UK or Europe who have ordered books from dealers who advertise in places such as Bibliofind. All these dealers seem to be in the States - where there any problems, and how much does postage cost?
Depends on whether you get delivery by Surface or Air and, furthermore, whether you have the delivery insured or not.
In the last year I have ordered about 800 dollars worth of Vance books from the States (and also Nifft the Lean) mainly in the form of U-M editions. Surface Freight is usually about 5-6 dollars rising to about 15-20 for insured items. Delivery time is about 6-8 weeks. Air freight starts at about 30 dollars or so with a 1-2 week delivery time depending on courier.
Entertainingly enough, I bought the UK NEL Hardcovers of Ecce and Old Earth and Throy off Cobblestone books becuase noone in the UK could get them for me!
: Thanks
