Excellent.
The same thought occurred to me while wathcing Ron Howard's WILLOW (somewhat disappointing--for a whole host of reasons).
The caged "Mad Mardigan" all but SHOUTed Cugel.

: Well, off the top of my head:

: Val Kilmer as Cugel? Don't ask me why, just some quality, the facial expressions.

: Saxon is a good choice; how about the fellow from LA Confidential Russell, Crowe, as Reith?

: James Woods as Anacho?

: Michael Biehn as Gersen?

: Clair Danes as Alice? (Book of Dreams)

: Robin Williams as Howard Alan Treesong? (Shoot me.)

: Aillas is tough to cast ... restrained, intelligent, capable. Would anyone be offended by Leonardo di Caprio? I like Keith Carradine as a type, but he is a bit old for the part.

: Gwyneth Paltrow is a good choice for Suldrun.

: Brian Blessed as Casmir? (He's mostly a stage actor, but he's been in some films.)

: A young Telly Savalas as Lens Larque?

: Ashley Judd as Alusz? (Killing Machine)

: Winona Ryder as Jerdan Chanseth?

: Can anyone cast Woudiver? Truly larger than life. Maybe Jabba the Hut could play it ...

: I haven't thought this through, and thus deserve your scorn. Flame away.
