Tim,

When it comes to publishing your book, keep in mind that Tom Clancy tried literally hundreds of publishers before the Naval Intitute Press agreed to publish his first novel, _The Hunt for _Red October_, a book which spent about a year on the New York Times Bestseller List.
A suggestion I had heard was to specifically send a manuscript to editors who work with authors you believe your writing to be similar to. I wouldn't send a Vancian book to
the person who is editor for Connie Willis, for instance. If you just send the book to the publishing house generically, there's no telling what the tastes of the editor who reads it will be.
If you are interested in another opinion on the book, I'd be happy read it.
