: Mike--I agree with John. I would hate to see it shut down. I too am a long time Vance fan. I read my first story by him in the late 50's and have avidly followed his writing ever since. It was exciting to stumble across your site and realize there were many "out there" who felt as I do about his writing (although from the signatures on the message board there seem to be more male fans than female--or maybe the women just don't write in). I hope you will continue.
I too would feel terrible if the BBS were shut down. It's one of the most upbeat and interesting places (along with the rest of the site) on the web. And intelligent. By the way, Jack Vance once said that his readers were 90% highly educated, intelligent, males. He said this as part of a conversation about his desire to sell more books by appealing to a larger audience. I do know a few highly educated intelligent women who like his work, though.
