Hey all.
Sorry if this is a stoopid question, but I didn't see it answered anywhere else.
I have loved Vance's books for many years now - I started in my childhood and still return to them now. His use of language, his inventiveness and ingenuity, his wonderful dialogue and characters [- the characters! My God.], the extraordinary settings and beings, the sense of humanity you get from the protagonists and villains alike - all combine to overwhelm you with the sheer wonder of the worlds and stories he invents.
I love these books, and the worlds and characters within them. From reading his books, I feel I have an inkling of who Jack Vance is as a person - but I know this is an illusion.
I don't know if Vance occasionally reads this site, but I would dearly love to be able to write and thank him personally for the immense pleasure and wonder his writing has brought me - it has certainly enriched my life and given me something special.
I would entreat anyone who knows how I could get a letter or a message to Jack Vance to either post here, or better yet, email me directly at ian@softpress.com with this information.
I am glad I have found this site, and will head off to explore it further. Thanks indeed to the person responsible.
A final question, for which I apologise once more for its crassness; the most recent Vance book I believe I have come across was Throy, the 3rd book in the Cadwal Chronicles.
What other books have there been since, and do they fall into either the Cadwal or Lyonesse series?
If someone could enlighten me I would be eternally grateful!
Thank you for your time
