I read these messages with great interest. In Jack's current sight condition and at his age one shouldn't expect him to respond to letters. We'd much rather have another book from him. Don't let that dissuade you, however. I meant to write a letter of my appreciation to Fritz Leiber and somehow never got around to it. And then, of course, he upped and died. Fortunately I had met Fritz more than once and expressed that appreciation in person. Still, I've kicked myself ever since. I think writing letters of appreciation to writers whom we admire does as much for your self as it does for the writer.
