There have been a few threads along this subject, so I thought I'd give a reasonable amount of examples and see how we fare :)
Iucounu...I say it eye-o-coon-oo...the "iu" was a yoo sound in Latin, so your mileage may vary.
Tschai...this is a good one. Give it your best guess...I say it "shy" but that tsch bit throws you off.
Anacho...I say it anako, in analogy with anarchy, but I'm probalby the lone voice here?
Madouc...I say "madoock"...madowc anyone?
Emphyrio..."em-fire-ee-o" or "em-fear-ee-o"? I go with the former
Mazirian...same thing, "maz-ire-ee-an" or "maz-eer-ee-an" I say it the latter
Chasch...as it's spelt, with the "ch" sound on the end or just chash?
Ecce? Hmmm...here's a good one. Ecce is Etruscan for one according to the book, ecce also means "here is" or "behold" in Latin...two utterly different tongues...I try to do a pseudo-Italian on it and and say it "ekchay"...I'm bound to be horribly wrong
Any more examples? Or comments on the above?
