I am thrilled to learn there is another Dumarest novel, but it's a shame if he finally finds Earth, and I'm afraid it can't be anything but an anticlimax... This sort of "quest" should never end, of course, it's a basic fact of life.
I've read the whole series many times, and I wrote down on the cover page the names of planets he's visited since previous book, names of planets in the book,, name of "best friend", name of "the cyber", name of "the villain" and of course, name of "the girl" ! Never found the time to write it all down in proper form, has anyone ever managed to do this absolutely "futile" document ? I'd love to see it, and compare notes.

: : : I have often wondered if #30 was the last. I have searched assiduously for later volumes to no avail. I seem to remember a newsgroup thread sometime ago on this question, with someone claiming that it was the last since, at the end, Dumarest finally knows how to find Earth. However, many of the earlier novels ended similarly: Dumarest is convinced he finally is on his way. I was not convinced by the end of #30.

: : Richard Chandler's list is correct but is missing the last two titles. No. 31 is The Temple of Truth and No. 32 is the long awaited final volume in the Dumarest saga. The title is The Return and it published by Gryphon Press. Dumarest is finally home.
: For your information: I have done some searching on the net and there is a special Dumarest page. The address is members.tripod.com/~prescot/dumarest
: It contains anything I wanted to know and more.
