I lost all faith in USA when the first bogus American president, Gerald R. Ford, was installed by his predecessor and confirmed by a legislative election sans participatory democracy; just the same I have no complaint with that esteemed
Masonic institution. I am a green-fascist. Fascism. that most humanistic political philosopy that posits that political power is best wielded by the human being most capable of using it. So I'm not pushsing "Volunteerism" of any sort. When I was a boy I wanted someday to write novels like Jack Vance. As a very young man I wanted to defintively translate Jack's books into German and Italian. Now I have just read Mr. Vance's delightful comic mystery "Bird Isle" and donated it to the blind, with thanks to U-M Publishers, Jack Vance, US government and Border's books, Philadelphia. All legal with the proviso on every tape: "A single copy for use by the blind and physically handicappped: not to be reproduced. Copyright 1966,1988 by Jack Vance, Underwood-Miller& etc first edition1988 Furnished by Ocean County(NJ) Volunteers for the Blind Read by Dom Ciocca, Jr."
Some of you like me don't visit this BBS's homepage very often, we just subscribe and scan postings on e-mail. Many years ago I was cooling my heels in minimum security reading an I.Asimov mag and there was a story called "Rabid in Mallworld"
possibly by that great Somtow guy who wrote "Starship and Haiku"
I didn't read the story, there was a better one in that mag about an African diplomat and I had virtually limitless library
resources in jail.Anyway, Ive been chastised on this BBS for kowtowing to chain booksellers but dig: A guy running this BBS's webpage turned me on to a signed, limited edition of "Rhialtho the Marvellous", slipcased, by Brandywine Books, a collaboration with Waldenbooks and Underwood-Miller. I called the local mall and ordered two copies, one for myself and one for my sister's Piscean birthday, and Melissa at Waldenbooks told me they'll arrive in 2 weeks, and will cost less than$30 the pair. I've got mine! Thanks man, as you put it "to the Malls" Bye, Dom
