: How many times has Vance used the name Garstang?
: At least three comes to mind, and I tend to recall several minor mentions in other novels.

Sir Garstang of Twanbow Hall attended King Casimir's rustic celebration at Sarris, in "Madouc". He is mentioned only in a footnote, where Vance reveals that the lineage of the Arturian Hero, Sir Tristram of Lyonesse, derives from Sir Garstang (his grandson, to be exact).
