: Van Dongen is one of the many artists profiled in "Infinite Worlds" by Vincent Di Fate. Born 1920. Started doing SF in 1950 while still in art school. Late start I guess cause served and wounded in WW2. Lots of work for Astounding. Also did work for Galaxy, Space Science Fiction, Science Fiction Adventures etc. before "leaving the specialty in the early 60's". Returned to SF in late 70's at invitation of Lester del Rey - Ballantine/Del Rey books. Also worked for Donald Wollheim at DAW and did the occasional cover for Analog. Apparently has not done any SF since. Great book - lots of prints - highly recomended.

Thanks much for the tip, John. I picked this book up and enjoyed it quite a bit. I was hoping to see some of Van Dongen's later work here (one of his covers for a Daw ed. of a Vance title would have been ideal!) though, and am still hoping someone can point me to a source for prints oh his work.

thanks!
Stuart
