I can understand some opposition to a Wystful disgracing of sheirls. But if the disgracing of the sheirls went only so far as it did in "Trullion," then I can't understand your opposition to that aspect of hussade. (I know: a terribly sexist thing to say, but so it goes.) Indeed, if the disgracing were part of your hussade league, then I would predict great success--although the broadcasts would have to be edited.

As for hussade, football, and disgracing of sheirls: Isn't that the implicit point in having scantily clad young women gyrating on the sidelines--that the players are defending the honor of those young women, all of them the nec plus ultra of feminine desirability? These are emblems of the values that actually animate our society.

: Watching the Broncos lose to the Patriots this afternoon on the tube made me glad that football isn't hussade, and that we don't have sheirls to be disgraced. It also made me cogitate a working hussade league -- and as I write this the idea seems only half-fanciful!
