:In the tale of the wife of bath, her prologue is about justifying her five marraiges, in a period of time where a women married for life, in a period of time where women were belongings and did not have soverienty. In the tale the wife of bath supports her lifes path, with the view of all women wanting soverienty.Her character is one of a strong feminist view, maybe egalitarian, but certainly role reversal. She talks about control in her marriages, yet she discusses equality in her tale. I hope this sheds some light. ???
