Willem, you survived! Through the orange clouds of gas and dust, your voice lacks its characteristic boom. Is it really you? The castle is still intact? And the pipe-cabbage bushes? Thanks to the Slumbering Gods of Dreaming, you've kept a kept a strong link to your home. Clear title to the stone house, too, with its auxiliary libraries, totem pool tables, and sunfeatherstrand knitting vestibules...you've much to be thankful for. However did your properties survive the pounding of the migration? During the initial tumult, I held by my teeth to a fragment of the Guest Book, which was stuck in a puddle of word sludge on the edge of a cliff above a pure sinkhole several fathoms deep (it is from here that I get my water). After that I became more attuned to the new atmosphere of this place, and constructed a hut, as well as several outposts. But no more shouting! I'm coming up--will you have your men open the gate? I'm bringing something to whet your wystle: casks of purple tape tree root squeezings left thoughtfully untouched by Dan! Why do your brows now lower? Look here then, Dan left us also a jug of Maschein grass wine. There, you begin to descend the parapet, holding the flat wine glasses of Lesser Maschein.... Hey, there went the cork! [Hurries to Willem's spot on the bulwark while slurping spurting spritz and manages to save nearly half a bottle of wine, which he then decants to the glasses. They toast the here and now. With a low finger flick Willem gestures to an understuffed chair. David sits.]
