Yeah, that's American bucks on ebay prices, I'm afraid. Actually I paid $80 about 3 years ago for a _VotV_, got a break on the set _TMF_/_BI_, but had to spring for $80 each for the signed, limited _SN/_DO_, so the ebay prices aren't always bad. Course those latter two sets of mysteries may go a lot higher before the auction closes.

Trouble is, there are a bunch of Vance fans and _SN_/_DO_ have never been reprinted, never made it into PB editions and will likely (IMO) increase in price as long as the fans are there. _TMF_ can be found in PB pretty reasonably, but _BI_ is another of those very limited runs of printing.

I think ebay brings out the gambling fever, the irrational, the ego involved in a clever psychological way. Clever for ebay in a money making way that is.

Recent prices for some things (there was an U/M Madouc that sold for roughly $25 yesterday, I believe), but the $255 for _Dark Side of the Moon_ would make it impossible for me to buy unless I'd just won the lottery.

Henri, did you see the pristine $2500 Alan Wade (aka Jack Vance) _TMF_ for sale on ABE??!! Yikes!
