If anyone wants to use a chat room on IRC, I created one called "phaedra-newzealand". However, being a newbie, I don't know if it is available for others to enter when I am not in there.
Alternatively, the first to enter IRC could create their own chat room (called Vance or JackVance or whatever) and anyone subsequently entering IRC could look for that room.
