: : These stories in the Vance collection would be written on a particular Vance topic: perhaps The Dying Earth or unknown early episodes of the Demon Princes or the latter days of Lyonesse?

: : I believe Vance took part in a similar commision in the Vance, Brunner, Niven _Three Trips in Space and Time_ on a single idea.

: Didn't a Vance story or two appear in the deSprague Camp edited series of short story anthologies "Flashing swords..". There were at least four volumes in the series, as I recall. Whatever Mr de Sprague's shortcomings as a novelist, he certainly had good taste. Anthologies of stories around a particular theme are always valuable (IMO) since one may come across a new author whose works you've yet to enjoy. Similar postings of authors on this BBS have the same happy result.

Indeed on swords etc: in Flashing swords which was edited by Lin Carter, # 1 contained Morreion
