Sorry, Ela, but Gerard de Nerval was not a Surrealist, this literary (and much more than that) movement started in the 20th Century, Gerard de Nerval is a mid 19th century poet.
I don't remember that he led a lobster on a leash, this looks much more like a Dadaist attitude, much later....
All I remember of De Nerval, in fact, is that he had severe mental problems at the end of his life, and hanged himself in a street of Paris, where he was found , probably hanging from a gas lamp-post ...
Anyway, Navarth is mad too, so there is indeed a similitude, but I don't see Navarth hanging himself, except maybe to get some kick (and "lift") out of it !
