Important addition to my last posting:
I included Nick Edwards in the report of initial results, even
though he did not write to me directly.
I should add that of the six who DID write to me, the nicest and
longest reply was from a Frenchman, who, despite being an engineer, has a very intelligent & comprehensive knowledge
of SF, and likes both Pratchett & Vance, and knows Eric FR,
which means he's the best person so far on my list.
