What would your SF Masterworks list comprise? I'd like to see a Vance work on the list (a stand-alone piece like To Live Forever, maybe) but his reputation rests more on his overall output than any single work.

: What do you think?

I expect this subject will attract a fair number of follow-ups Tim!
Everybody has their own favourite SF authors and I don't think, with such a huge amount of out-of-print SF classics out there, that there will ever be a general consensus on what should be included in a "Masterworks" series.
However, for what it's worth here are a few that I think should be included:
Firstly, by Vance I would say The Eyes of The Overworld, if I had to pick just one...though it's hard!
There are dozens of other novels by other SF authors that I would like to see re-printed but I'll stick to the following ten though I've a feeling other people's lists will look somewhat different!
Recalled To Life - Robert Silverberg
This Island Earth - Raymond F. Jones
Time is the Simplest Thing - Clifford D. Simak
Soldier, Ask Not - Gordon R. Dickson
Little Fuzzy - H. Beam Piper
The Overman Culture - Edmund Cooper
The Closed Worlds - Edmond Hamilton
The Long Tomorrow - Leigh Brackett
Mindswap - Robert Sheckley
Doomsday Morning - C.L. Moore
