: : : I was bitterly disappointed that there was no wrap-around dustjacket, like NightLamp. Apart from that, I was thrilled to get the new book. I wonder if the numbered books are sent out in the order they were received by Underwood. If that's the case, I was ten books away from not getting one.

: : You beat me, I got lucky #13. Jerry H. told me there is a collector up in the bay area who always got #1 of the U-M editions.

: : I too would like a #1, but note that the order in which they are numbered is NOT the order in which they were signed, printed or bound.

: My Underwood "Ports of Call" carries a number in the low hundreds, and I handle the book lightly. When I read it that first night, I barely opened the pages (this method of reading fine volumes requires strong light). The story, delightful in itself, is presented in a light serif type that allows for easy reading; the pages of print are crisp, bound tightly with solid material, and housed in a stiff box with neatly-bevelled edges. No credit is given the artist whose print adorns the cover, and I find this a curious ommission. The autograph, however, pleases me, and as I put this edition back in plastic, I am soothed by its warm green heft.
