: : A SCULLION!... I suppose I'd consider being a Somesuch. Acutally, what I'd really want to do at his house (besides meet the guy obviously), is to closet myself up with all the copies of his older books (supposing he has them), because I can't stand the thought that they exist, and that I can't obtain them (due to geographical and financial reasons). I've got a collection of about 30 but there's lots more. I know all that happiness is out there, and I can't get at it. **Frustration** I don't particularly want to build a collection because it's valuable - I just want to read the texts. To me they are like Douglas Adams books (although DA is no great literary talent) - real humorous and extremely enjoyable. The fact that Jack can weave words like a Blue Tit builds his nest, is just a very happy coincidence.

: Don't despair - it is possible to collect all of Jack's writings here in little old En Zed...a lot of patience and an almost live-in arrangement with your local second-hand book shop produce amazing results sometimes!..of course its a lot easier these days with things like amazon.com.. (speaking from happy personal experience)...Lyall
Lyall,
Amazon com is (in my opinion) much too expensive , directly dealing with one bookdealer and have it all shipped at once is much better for someone on a tight budget.
Amazon.com will buy from a dealer, put a premium on the price and sell it then to you, while you could go to the dealer at once.
ever thought about getting on the trading lists that happen to be there?
