Anybody else use Vance-conjured words or phrases in 'real life'? I admit to referring to one of the security guards in our place as 'old stiffarse', to the general amusement of the gathered ensemble; shamefully, I did not come clean as to the source of this and other fine pejoratives!
YES this promises to become an interesting subject;
my favorites (in use for 25 years now and then):
'My reputation for discretion is a byword'
and
'I am as interested as is possible in a factual vacuum'
both stolen from Woudiver in the Dirdir , and to be found on the same page (ACE page 98 / DAW p 84)
