I know this is somewhat off topic but this board has discussed both Hornblower and Aubrey in the past. A&E is running 4 2 hour movies of early Hornblower this month and I think will repeat them in May. I have seen 1 and 3 and they are very very good. Watching these movies tho makes me wonder if anyone could really be as "innocent" and unsophisticated as Hornblower is portried. I started reading Hornblower about 35 years ago and these seem to follow the books pretty well as far as I recall.
Still, it's not how I visualize Hornblower internally. Hopefully after the first 4 they will make movies out of the rest of Hornblower. Catch it if you can. Well worth it.

To those shilling for Vance movies - be careful what you ask for. Each and every one of us has our own internal spin on each Vance story. Do you really want to see some actor "become" that Vance character a la Darth Vader or Solo or Skywalker! I think not.
