The only reason I might not object to a Vance movie would be for the
publicity - Vance's work remains underappreciated (IMO) by the populace,
and a well-made vance-worthy movie may lead enough people to "read the
book" (movie-books seem to be a trend nowadays) and discover the magic
for themselves.
Aside: as a dabbler in computer graphics here in grad school, I've seen
some pretty amazing stuff. Creating a vancean universe should be a fun
endeavour (I'm imagining the glass towers of Garwiy, among other things).
