Have you never seen 'City of Lost Children'? Have you been priveleged to view 'Brazil'? "The Princess Bride"? Snobs, miscreants... buffoons!
As though good movies are never made. I have been visulizing Vance movies for years. It can be done. Just dont let Lucas (who has stolen heavily from Vance if you have eyes in your head to see with) or Speilberg do it.
Actors. Viable Vanceian actors abound! Here is my short list.
You cast them. Wallace Shawn, Kyle Mclaughlin (think 'The Hidden', not 'Dune'), Kevin Kline (Rhialto!), Bruce Campbell (sly, vengeful, victimized - running for his life on the Planet of Adventure), Mandy Patankin, Lyle Lovett (minatory and odd - a perfect Vanceian Villian).
Actresses. A little tougher. Any waifish ingenue will do. The heavy hitters? Spanchetta? Probably have to go overseas for them. Shirley MacClaine might be able to pull it off, or any of a number of those old English Dames.
