Fellow fans: Here’s a chance to influence future generations of literary criticism of Mr Vance’s oeuvre. What should be the adjective to describe the Great Man’s style and books?
I’ve seen Vancian, but it strikes me as being inelegant. However, remember Joyce! If Joycean, so Vancean. Thus, we can now refer to Vancean critics (and much good that’ll do us if they’re all of the same level of ignorance as Jack Rawlins…).
So: Vancean good, Vancian bad.
All in favour say aye.
AYE.
Motion carried.
Good. On with the bulletin board…
