If you find anyone much like JV, be sure to let us all know!
There have been suggestions in the past on this BB that this author or that one is Vance-like, but I've never found those suggested to have quite JV's unique combination of descriptive powers and dry sense of humour.
There are a few authors who give me somewhat the same reading pleasure as JV does: L. Sprague deCamp, Avram Davidson, Fritz Leiber, Andrew Offutt, and Mick Farren, inter alia. However, I won't claim that these fine writers are "like" JV.
