My first book (probably read at too young an age to understand
it) was "To Live Forever". Only when I read "The Moon Moth"
years later (in the greatest SF anthology mentioned earlier)
did I make the connection and begin to seek out his other
works.

I still think "The Moon Moth" is the best introduction, but
Araminta Station (if the intracacies don't scare the reader
off) would do also.
