Recently I had the opportunity to read the Taplinger on Vance (published 1980, thanks to Gene)
As new novels from Jack are scarce this is an alternative therapy during holidays.
The book states something of interest on 2 contributors:
Peter Close: ' .. and is currently working on a full-lenght book dealing with the literature of Jack Vance.'
Mark Willard: '.. Mr Willard is presently at work on a concordance covering the entire body of Jack Vance's speculative literature.'
Did anybody hear anything on the state of the 'currently -1980-at work ' statements, anything finished in the mean time ?
With regard to the contents of the contribution of Peter Close; I had the impression he could not say what a good piece of work Vance delivers. He had too many downgrading statements to my taste.
I am just curious if these guys did deliver anything afterwards that is worth reading.
