I have half a dozen CAS books and they are all excellent. In an interview published in Dream Makers Volume 2 Vance credits Smith for influencing the Dying Earth. I also remember reading an essay in abook about Vance that directly compared passages from the 2 authors trying to strees the similarity in style. I felt it was a bit of a stretch. But the real point is that Smith is a writer well worth pursuing if you don't want to spend the rest of your life re - reading "The Blue World."
